The Academy Trust

The Trust currently operates three academies, Swavesey Village College, North Cambridge Academy and Nene Park Academy, and is also the chosen promoter for a secondary school and post-16 centre for Northstowe, a new town to be built west of Cambridge.

The Trust’s academies have common values and core operational systems, which they apply locally, adapting to their individual and local context. Each school therefore retains their own local governing bodies and identities.

Our Values

·         The pursuit of excellence.
·         Valuing people.
·         Achievement for all.
·         A high quality learning environment.
·         Extending the boundaries of learning.

As members of the CMAT family, Trust academies aim to unite pupils, parents and local communities and businesses around a common sense of purpose, and to share experiences and resources to improve standards and their contribution to their communities.

Staff at Trust academies are employed centrally and we seek to use their experience and knowledge to the benefit of the whole family - helping spread best practice, and also offering career development opportunities.

As a multi-academy trust, CMAT has seen real benefits in terms of recruitment and retention of excellent teachers and school leaders.

The Trust’s vision is not limited to its own family of academies which will be located close to its origins in Cambridgeshire. It will also champion, enable and support the delivery of its vision by example and through the links it builds with other schools, educational providers, local authorities and local businesses.

CMAT aspires to be recognised regionally and nationally as a champion of excellence in education.
